The new Ferrari California is like a dream come true for all the Ferrari lovers. This beautifully crafted car has a distinctive swept back headlamps in the front, together with a large ‘egg-crate’ grille. Look down the sides and you’ll see the steeply rising waistline, while at the stubby rear end are the company’s trademark circular lamps and an eye-catching quad exhaust layout.


However the biggest breakthrough is the new Ferrari California is the inclusion of a folding hard top, which will come as standard on all versions. This hard top is made of aluminium to keep weight down, it is electrically powered and can be stowed away at the flick of a switch.



Both chassis and bodywork of Ferrari California are made up of aluminium and is in line with the rest of the current range.


The new Ferrari California includes an original 2+ concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car. The California's 4.3-litre V8 engine features direct fuel injection and a "flat" crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving pleasure which is typical for Ferrari.


The all-new 7-speed dual clutch gearbox from Ferrari allows the new Ferrari California to scorch from standstill to 60mph in just 4.0-seconds.


A new multi-link rear suspension set-up promises exceptional agility and sharp responses, while the adjustable F1-Trac traction control has been tweaked.


Brembo brakesin Ferrari California featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient braking.






In addition to sporting the marque's classic styling cues, the cabin has also been beautifully trimmed using quality materials by Ferrari's own skilled artisans. New accessories and equipment, such as the seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and infotainment system, together with optimised aerodynamics ensure that this is a highly ergonomic and enjoyable car to drive regardless of whether the top is up or down.










No firm launch date has yet been revealed, however it is expected that the delivery of the new Ferrari California would start from 1st quater of 2009 and is expected to be priced around £130,000.
